NZ premier, Iran’s FM discuss bilateral ties

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key and discussed enhancement of ties between the two countries.

 

 
Pointing to his meetings with New Zealand’s foreign and trade ministers, as well as members of the Middle East Business Council, Dr. Zarif emphasized the need to increase cooperation in the post-sanctions era.
 
He also presented a report on the developments of Syria and Iraq, as well as the regional issues.
 
New Zealand’s John Key also expressed satisfaction with the removal of sanctions illegally imposed on Iran, announcing that he supports for the expansion of bilateral relations and will issue an order to fix some of the issues with trade and economic relations between the two countries.
 
Zarif arrived in New Zealand capital, Wellington, early Saturday as the fifth leg of his Asia-Pacific tour.
 
During his stay in New Zealand, Zarif held talks with the country’s foreign minister and a number of other ministers and senior officials on ways to improve relations, particularly in trade and economic sectors.
