IRGC rebuts rocket test near US warships

IRGC’s public relations office dismissed the claims made by Americans about any rocket or missile launch in the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC Navy has scheduled no drill or test-firing in the Strait of Hormuz over the past week or more specifically during the time claimed by the Americans, reiterated the Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Office General Ramezan Sharif on Thursday.

The general described the false accusation as a trick of psychological warfare worth to be thought over.

The peace and security of the Persian Gulf is one of the major priorities of Iran and the IRGC in the region and all the units of the IRGC have their own preparatory drills according to formerly planned timetables, highlighted General Sharif.

General Sharif’s reaction came a day after the US accused Iran of launching a "highly provocative" rocket test last week near its warships and commercial traffic passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
