Hossein Amir Abdollahian, on behalf of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, attended the house of Roknabadi's family expressing condolences over his sad demise.
Roknabadi was assumed missing following the deadly incident which occurred in Mina, Saudi Arabia, during the annual Hajj ceremony.
His body is to be transported to Iran early on Saturday.
Appreciating the efforts made by Roknabadi during his tenure in Lebanon, Amir Abdollahian once again reiterated that Saudi Arabia is responsible for the Hajj tragedy during which thousands of pilgrims including 464 Iranians were killed.
