Zarif urges Saudis to speed up treating injured pilgrims in Mina

Iranian FM Zarif urged Riyadh to fulfill its duties regarding the Saudi authorities’ mismanagement of Hajj rituals which led to the deadly crush in Mina, outside the Saudi holy city of Mecca.

 

 
In a live interview with state TV on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who is currently in New York said that a special summit of foreign ministers of Islamic countries will be held on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to follow up on the legal and political aspects of the tragic incident in Mina on Thursday, which killed upwards of 2,000 pilgrims, including at least 136 Iranians.
