He made the remarks during his meeting with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili on the sidelines of the 20th anniversary conference of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
Speaking about the strategic situation of Iran and Georgia in the Middle East and Black Sea, Jahangiri said that connecting the Persian Gulf and Black Sea can promote cooperation among regional states.
Iran and Georgia enjoy cordial cultural and historical ties and there are good potential for increase of ties between the two states in all fields including energy, tourism, industry and agriculture, he added.
